I'm taking you to the incredibly beautiful Agafay Desert for some Moroccan Elopement Wedding Photography.
I still can't quite believe that I photographed the beautiful Tammie & Sal in the Agafay!!
This elopement shoot is set close to the Agafay Luxury Desert Camp, around 45 minutes from Marrakech, in the heart of the Agafay- which is an incredible destination for elopements in Morocco. The camp itself is so stunning, with luxurious and comfortable bell tents, an on-site restaurant, and even a pool right in the middle of the desert! Not to mention unspoiled views of the rolling golden desert dunes as far as the eye can see. I personally stayed in the camp too after working with Tammie and Sal, and absolutely loved it. It was so surreal waking up in the desert, and spending the day relaxing by the pool looking through these photos- literally a dream office for a destination wedding photographer.
The camp also has its own camels which are truly a Moroccan elopement trademark!
If you're getting married at a nearby iconic Moroccan Wedding Venue such as; Beldi Country Club , La Mamounia or Kasbah Bab Ourika , the Agafay Desert is a perfect place for your destination pre-wedding shoot, which is included in my Destination Wedding Package.
Under the late November sun, Tammie & Sal totally embraced their experience. We started the shoot at golden hour and ended when the sun had set over the dunes (also known as blue hour). The evening the perfect time for this shoot to really bring out the golden tones of the rolling dunes. The sun is a lot softer in the evening, which is so flattering for photos but also a much more comfortable experience to shoot under the otherwise hot Moroccan sun.
Of course, we had to get Tammie on one of the camels for some shots right as the sun was about to set over the dunes to really capture the magic of a Moroccan elopement!
There is no right or wrong way to do an elopement, but from experience of working in the desert, Tammie & Sal totally nailed it. A beautiful long floaty dress and loose curl hairstyle paired with the desert breeze adds another dimension to some of the photos. Loose and lightweight clothing meant that the couple were not restricted and could embrace all of the prompts for photos.
Ah, looking back through these highlights really has reminded me how blessed I am to share experiences like this with my couples.
